Lorenzo Bell is a dynamic, energetic performer. Born and raised in the Bronx N.Y., Lorenzo was born into a musical family. His uncles played guitar with various musical artists such as Gwen Guthrie, and Onaje Gumbs, and was one of the original members of the Funk band Cameo. Lorenzo started singing in church as a little boy, under the tutelage of his mother who performed gospel music with James Cleaveland and the Tri-state Mass choir as well as other gospel artists. Lorenzo, who was surrounded by R&B music and gospel music from a young child, inevitably sought to blaze his own path as a musical artist. Iconic Motown singing group The Jackson 5, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, and other artists such as New Edition made their mark on his musical approach. Lorenzo started his 1st singing group called “Popular Demand” at 17 years old. The group reached its heights as a Uptown Records artist in 1988, but it did not release any music while on the label. The group performed with acts such as Big Daddy Kane, Mary J Blige, The Main Ingredient, Sybil, Intro, The Force MDs, Jeff Redd, Intro, and Joe.

After a five-year hiatus, Lorenzo returned to his first love, Music with a vengeance. Lorenzo performed with various bands and as a solo artist in the United States and abroad. Lorenzo is the former lead singer of the R&B Hall of Fame singing group from Philadelphia, Double Exposure, taking over for the original lead singer, the late incomparable Jimmy Williams. Lorenzo’s energetic performance and powerful singing style proved to be a great followup to Jimmy Williams, gaining the group new fans wherever they performed. Lorenzo has performed with acts such as KC & The Sunshine Band, and The Manhattans feat. Gerald Alston, Evelyn Champagne King, James “JT” Taylor from Kool and the Gang, Harold Melvin’s Blue Notes, The Ladies of Skyy, George McCrae, The Trammps, The Tavares, Blue Magic, Kool & The Gang, Heat Wave, First Choice, Heatwave, the First Ladies of Chic, The Jacksons, Melba Moore and more.

They have opened and performed with artists such as Ladies of Skyy, Uptown Records label-mate Jeff Redd, Howard Hewitt from Shalamar, Alyson Williams and Melissa Morgan, and more In 2018, Lorenzo started the band, The Gentlemen of Soul LSM. The band slowly developed a following in the tri-state area for people who loved Soul and R&B music.

In 2019, Lorenzo decided to change the personnel to enhance the ability to perform different types of Soul R&B music. Scout Ford was added in 2019 and a few years later, the fantastic addition of Chandlar took the group to a new level. Lorenzo Bell’s love of Music, Choreography, and Harmony has led to the evolution of Soul R&B.
