Brooklyn Native Scout Ford has made his presence in the New York musical area since he was initially inspired by street and subway performers in the 1980s. The group Solo was his 1st musical inspiration. Their distinctive mixture of Gospel, Blues, Doo – Wop, and Classic Motown harmonies motivated Scout to follow his musical path. Scout then fully focused on his love of Blues and Soul music by listening to Stax label artists like Otis Redding and Sam & Dave. 

Scout Ford developed his musical approach in the following years, molding it in the song stylings of Jackie Wilson, Sam Cooke, David Ruffin, and Teddy Pendergrass to name a few. Scout built a following while performing in New York City clubs, focusing on iconic venues such as Café Wha, Arthur’s Tavern, The Blue Note, and Ashford’s & Simpson Sugar Bar where he holds court as the featured artist for their Blues Music Night. 

Scout’s soulful tenor could not be held to the Tri-State area though, His powerful voice led him to tour with the world-renowned Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO) for 3 years as a featured vocalist. In his time with TSO, he has traveled all over the world, bringing his unique vocal style to the masses.

Scout has performed with various bands in his decades of performing, but his love for Doo-Wop continued to call to his melodic heart. Scout then started “Scout Ford and CWB”. His band has performed in the Greenwich Village scene for years. Wowing visitors to the area and NYC tourists with their tight harmonies and smooth vocals. 

Scout, nicknamed “Long Train Running Man” because of his power-packed rendition of the Doobie brother’s classic has made his stamp on the NYC musical world, His energetic, soulful merge of Blues, and Soul.

In 2019, Scout Ford was recruited by Lorenzo Bell as a new addition in a restructuring to the lineup of the Gentlemen of Soul. The fit was an instant success. And now as the Gentlemen of Soul evolves into The Men of Soul would not be the same without the electric voice of Scout Ford, and they are grateful to have him.
